This week room 15 has been doing maths with room 16.  Eadie and Abi were my maths buddy's this week. In problem solving we are learning about proportions and ratios. I can solve problem like

Water safety

This week my school has been doing swimming at Pioneer pool so we can learn water safety.
We learnt how to fall out of a boat safely, we also learnt how to do a pencil dive.

Here are some do's and  don'ts for swimming

do's

1. do huddle if you are in a group to keep warm

2. do stay together if you are in a group

3. do  wear a life jacket


don'ts 

1. don't panic if you fall in the water

2. don't swim away from your group

3. don't swim away from your boat

The Journey

Last week all of Hoon Hay school participated in a school production called “The Journey“. Each class did
a different country, Room 15 did Brazil. We had a lot of colourful costumes and we had to put on makeup.
I did two items. In the Kapa Haka one I was nervous because I forgot the words. The next item was Room
fifteen's item which was Brazil I had a blue leotard and a yellow skirt with white sparkly fabric. I loved doing
the production because I love performing and dancing and it was really fun.

Visual Maths

In Rooms 15 and 16 we have  been  making graphs with our maths buddy's. Me and Annabelle  are buddy's  and we made a graph about colours. At the top we had lavender and at the bottom we had army green. It was really fun.

Maths Talk at Hoon Hay School

At our school we work with a maths mate and share our thinking with them. We ask questions about our maths and if we aren't sure of something, we explain how we do it. We know that 2 brains are often better than one and we enjoy working collaboratively. 

Today Kyla and I worked on solving this problem. we used repeated addition and our answer was 33.50

Kyla, Mya and Grace went to the movies. Their tickets cost $14.60 each. How much did their tickets cost altogether?

Last term Pippa and I were maths buddy's this was one of our favourite pieces of maths we did.
It was 153 - 18  = 104.60$
153 - 50 = 103
103 + 2 = 105
105.2 - .6
$ 104.60

Spencer park camp

On the first day of term two room 15 went to Spencer park camp

this is a photo of me at adrenaline forest.

It was really fun on the zip line because it felt like you where going to crash.
it was also really fun on the swing beam thing because I fell off.
